Common questions on Desert Storm Quartzite
Is Desert Storm Quartzite harder than granite? +
Generally yes, quartzite registers 7+ on the Mohs scale vs granite's 6-7. Desert Storm Quartzite is more scratch-resistant and stain-resistant than most granites, making it well-suited to active kitchen counter use.
Why is Desert Storm Quartzite priced higher than granite? +
Quartzite is less widely quarried, harder to extract, and harder to cut and polish (which wears tools faster). The premium reflects production cost, not retailer markup. We supply quartzite at the same trade margin as our granite range.
